Merlin Skateboards Workshop
Atelier Merlin Skateboards specializes in handcrafting skateboards, surfskates, longboards, cruisers, and mini cruisers. There's no purism here: only the search for the perfect balance between technicality, durability, and aesthetics counts.
The Merlin Skateboards spirit
BALANCE AT THE HEART OF SHAPE
At the Merlin Skateboards workshop, we use different types of wood: traditional Canadian maple (hard rock maple), but also local species such as walnut, elm, or ash.
The boards are pressed mechanically (force: 24 tons), or under vacuum (pressure: 15 psi) depending on the project. Some boards go through both pressing techniques consecutively.
Over 95% of the boards are pressed with solvent-free, VOC-free PVA glues. The remaining 5% are hybrid models with 1/6 or 2/6 VOC- and BPA-free bio-based resin gluing.
Our finishes are made with varnishes made in France, solvent-free, and A+ certified.

THE PRESS
With a solid oak, beech, and Douglas fir frame, our press offers a 24-ton thrust. Its size allows it to accommodate our smallest decks (freestyle skateboards and mini cruisers), as well as our largest (dancing and downhill longboards).
Its high resistance capacity (thanks to steel reinforcements made by a small local company) also allows it to press up to 3 decks simultaneously.
It is the result of entirely local manufacturing, in our workshop, with wood from the region.
