A NEW LIFE FOR MATTER

In the Merlin Skateboards workshop, nothing goes to waste. Wood offcuts from board making - cuttings, end-of-series pieces, or imperfect elements - become the foundation of a collection of objects crafted from recycled skateboards. These fragments of Canadian maple, both strong and colorful, are hand-transformed into unique pieces.
It is a form of artisanal upcycling, guided by a respect for resources, where every scrap is seen not as waste but as an opportunity for creation. This approach places the project within a local and sustainable framework, true to the values of handmade work and French craftsmanship.

UNIQUE OBJECTS

The objects created from these scraps are both useful and expressive. Each piece bears the mark of skateboarding, whether in its colors, curved lines, or unique textures.
Through the cutting, coasters, keychains, wall mounts for boards and knives, as well as bracelets, necklaces, and clocks, are born. No two objects are alike. The layers of wood, the residual stains, and the raw shapes make each creation visually unique, full of substance and intention.
It's a way of extending the history of skateboarding in a new form, more discreet but just as full of character.

A RESPONSIBLE APPROACH

This work with offcuts is a natural extension of a craft that values each stage of production. Rather than throwing away, we transform. Rather than standardizing, we invent. Each piece is designed, cut, sanded, and assembled by hand in the workshop, with the same care as for a complete board.
These objects tell another side of skateboarding: that of a graphic, durable material with multiple lives, used down to the smallest chip. Recycling here becomes an act of creation, where the economy of material meets the precise gesture of the craftsman.
